Volunteering at Uncle Calvin's
Uncle Calvin's Coffeehouse is an all-volunteer organization.
We are a team of volunteers who love this kind of music, and think it does a
lot of good in the world and want to contribute to it.
Interested in volunteering at Uncle Calvin's? We can always use a little more
help!
There are several kinds of jobs in our volunteer line-up, most of which are
before, during and after the show. New volunteers can help out in the dessert
and beverage areas, with setup, teardown or kitchen cleanup. Some other jobs
during the show require special training. Once you've volunteered a few times
and get to know us a little, let us know if you're interested in training for
those spots.
So come join us! You can sign up as a new volunteer right here right now by
clicking on the link at the bottom of this page's left hand column. You can
read all about it by clicking here.
You can also check out the list of jobs without signing up as a volunteer first
by clicking the link on the left to view the job templates, or by selecting
from the list of shows below. However, you won't be able to sign up
for a job without registering first. You may also contact any of the
volunteer captains listed below for more information.
If you are attending a show, you may also just stop by the flyer table (near the
CDs) next time you're in and look for the signup sheet. Just write in your
name, and leave a phone number or email address so the area captain can contact
you. Make yourself a note of the job, show date and time you signed up for.
Contact information for the area captain might also be handy, in case you need
to change your commitment.
We also sometimes need help outside of showtime. If you have special skills or
contacts that might be helpful, let us know. You can send an email to the
Manager, or just talk to us at a show - ask any volunteer (look for the name
tags) and we'll get you to the right person.

Volunteer captains
Volunteer status
Volunteers are classified as either active, inactive, or new. You may be
automatically reclassified from one status to another, depending on how many
shows you sign up for over a given period of time.

New volunteers will be upgraded to active status after working at least 40% of scheduled shows over a 4 month period

Active volunteers will be downgraded to inactive status unless they work at least 20% of scheduled shows over a 4 month period
Inactive volunteers may not sign up for jobs. However, you may become active
again by signing in here and modifying your status on the View/Modify Volunteer
Information page. You'll remain active as long as you continue to sign up at
the required frequency.
